The Queen

Ooops...forgot to add Sadie to that last post.
Here's the QUEEN:
She really is a sweet girl. And very smart, too!!!

Four-legged Siblings

I'm a big "sister" again. Mind you I do have a biological sibling, however my parents (who are retired) have decided to add to their 'family' this spring. They adopted not one, but TWO corgi puppies - Scooter & Maggie Mae. They are ADORABLE!!

Mom told me that they were planning to get them back in February and I asked how is the QUEEN going to react to having rugrats around. The QUEEN is their 10 year old border collie, Sadie (but that's another story). Mom says that Sadie is adjusting well to her new brother & sister. I bet it's hysterical to watch Sadie try to "herd" these two.

Whew! Made It...

I'm baaaaaack... Miss me?! Well, the family and I have been busily entertaining the grandparents for the weekend. All in all, it went very well. Took the MIL to my favorite nursery to add to my ever "growing" collection of perennials. (pun intended!) Now, if I could just get the guy with the pinestraw to call me back - I'd be in business. But I digress...

Sunday, we loaded up the mom-mobile and headed out to G'ville for a day at the lake - picnic and all. My hubby & I love to go to G'ville to the locks to watch the boats go through. The last time we were there we could go out on the walkway nearest the locks. Well...9/11 has changed all that. It didn't occur to us that the locks would be gated off w/entrance only for those with a security badge. Duh! The highlight of the afternoon was when the hubby & kids where checking out an abandoned building and out of nowhere comes this vulture landing on the metal roof making tons of noise. Hubby said daughter jumped out of her skin - mind you, she's 14 and much to cool to get scared, but... Man, wish I'd been there to see that (I was busy watching the birds fly around the locks). He thought it was hysterical. So, there you have it. My weekend in a nutshell. :)

Spring!

Okay...Mother Nature make up your mind!!!! It's been officially spring for almost a month and the weather has been wacky, to say the least. March was unusually warm here and so far April has been a rollercoaster ride - 70 degrees & gorgeous one day and 40 degrees & nasty the next.

You should know that I LOVE to garden - though, one wouldn't know it to look at my yard right now. We've been in our 'new' house for almost 3 years (lived in previous one for 13) and I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do. I have LOTS of ideas, but never seem to have enough time to implement them. Anyway...I've got several perennials waiting to be planted and I need a nice weekend to do it. Guess, I'll have to see what this weekend brings. No wintry weather, please....

Getting Started

Bear with me as I try to figure out how to get this blog to work. I have lots to talk about, so hopefully I can get it all down.
