Planning...

this coming spring's garden.

I'm so excited!!! I've requested several seed/plant catalogs, so that I can begin laying out what I want to plant this year. I made notes of what didn't work and what did. I'm thinking that I'll be using a lot of hearts & flowers and wandering jew in my pots, as these two plants can take the heat, humidity and a little neglect and still look gorgeous throughout the summer into fall.

I plan to take advantage of most nice (aka warmer) days this winter to get out to clean up and prep my flower beds. There are a couple of plants that I need to move because they didn't do well in the spot I planted them last spring. Oh well, live and learn.

I really need to look at incorporating some hardscapes into my yard. However, I really don't know where to begin. I love birdbaths and sculptures, but I'm not sure how to place them in the beds. I suppose that I need to do some more research.

Maybe this year, I'll do a better job of documenting my work and post them here.

Merry Christmas...

From our house to yours!

Thank You!

My Mom and Dad sent this to us for Christmas! I have always wanted a Nativity set, but never seemed to find one I liked. Mom found this one made in the town they live in and it's gorgeous!

Thank you, Mom & Dad, for a wonderful Christmas Gift.

Peace and quiet...almost

It's so quiet in the house.

Hubby has taken the children out to do some Christmas shopping.

I suppose I should take this opportunity to wrap some presents or...

throw in a load of wash or...

tidy the kitchen or...

put my feet up and relax.

Hmmm...I'm leaning toward the last one.

Note: Hubby and the kids were gone less than an hour.

For the Moms!

To all the moms! Enjoy!!!

TSO - Amazing!

We took the kids to see Trans Siberian Orchestra in Nashville yesterday. I've always loved their music and have wanted to see them live for years. This is turned out to be my year. Woot!

About a month ago, I happened to be looking at their website and saw that they were playing in Nashville. Hubby and I thought it would be a great surprise for the kids. They didn't know that we were going until this past Friday. I managed to keep it a secret for a WHOLE month.

My daughter mentioned one morning on the way to school that she'd really like to see TSO in concert. I was so tickled because she didn't know that I'd already bought tickets. It took all my self-control not to tell her that we were going.

They thoroughly enjoyed the show. It was their first arena concert. They've been to Big Spring Jam many times, but we thought they'd really enjoy seeing a performance in this venue. We may just have to make this an annual event!

*Thanks to NomadSnaps for the clip. This was the same group of performers that we saw in Nashville.

They're going to be late...

I am soooo slow in getting out our Christmas cards. I'm never this late in getting out our Christmas cards. In fact, Hubby and I just finished taking and editing the pictures that we're going to choose from for our card.

What do you think?

This one is my favorite.

This is Hubby messing with the picture angle. It turned out quite well.

The kids had just finished goofing around and we were all laughing pretty hard.

They are growing up way too fast. However, they're becoming wonderful, well-behaved young adults. If I do say so myself...and I do.

Da Boy!

Sigh...

Last night was the middle school's band concert. My son plays tuba in the advanced band. He's in the 8th grade, so they get to wear the tux shirt, bow tie and dress slacks. He looks so grown up.

I'm not ready for both of my children to be in high school.

Always Learning!

Today, I created my own ringtones! I'm so excited. See, I'm not very tech savvy - but I am learning.

I had to replace my Blackberry Pearl because the trackball quit working and it would erase things on it's own. I'd only had it a couple of months - very frustrating!

Anyway, I received my new phone on Friday and wanted to put ringtones on it. Now, I can create my own ringtones without having to spend a lot of money. WooHoo!!!

Now, I'm dangerous.

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
