Wonders?!
Is it wrong to wish for the end of the school year when there are still more than THREE months left in it?! I'm exhausted from trying to juggle the work of two people in addition to maintaining a household, raising two well-behaved, well-adjusted teenagers and being the proper wife for my Hubby.
I'm beginning to wonder if it's not time for change for me because I'm worn out and dread getting up every morning at 5:30am.
In reality, I only have to muddle through the next 10 months because come next January I'll be taking care of a co-worker's new bundle of joy. I am thrilled that she approached me about this - knowing that I long to be a SAHM, again.
I try not to whine or complain, but...
I'm TIRED of being tired!!!

Random Acts
It seems over the years that the sports industry has been caught up in bad attitudes, steroids/other banned substances and other illegal activities. The news media never seems to put random act of sportsmanship on the front page.
That is until today...I stumbled across this story this afternoon. It brought tears to my eyes. It made me happy to know that there are still good guys/girls out there in the sports industry. No matter what level they're at.
I think that maybe we wouldn't have all the issues we do in the sports world if we reinforced the random (and not so random) acts of sportmanship.
That may be a naive way of looking at things, but sometimes the simplest things make a difference.

WTF?
This makes me so mad I could spit nails! I have kept quite about this ever since the story first broke because I didn't have enough information to form an opinion. Not anymore!!!
What doctor/fertility clinic in their right minds would implant 8 embryos in the womb of an unmarried, unemployed, 33-year old woman, who already has SIX children via the same process?! It's unconscionable, not to mention STUPID!!!
I have several friends who are battling with infertility issues. This whole situation just has to frustrate them. I can understand if this woman was married and had problems becoming pregnant. She is none of those things, according to everything that I've read and heard. Even her own mother has said that this is irresponsible.
Thank goodness I do not live/work in California because I would be raising a stink with my Congressman and my local government about, as a taxpayer, having to support her and her children. I would also work to get the license of the fertility clinic and doctor revoked. It is my understanding that all doctors need to be board certified and follow a code of ethics, even if they are foreign educated. This is ethically irresponsible.
This whole situation is a lesson in irresponsibility for all parties concerned.
*getting down off my soapbox

Spring...
is in the air.
Well...at least for this weekend anyway.
Yesterday while running errands, the family and I stopped by my favorite nursery to see what they've started in their greenhouses. And look what I found...
rose scotch broom
moonlight scotch broom
I'm itching to get out and plant. However, I've learned from past experiences NOT to set out any type of plants, even perennials (like there are any available right now, anyway). This area has been known to have a late season freeze (i.e. April 2007).
I suppose I'll just have to entertain myself with perusing gardening websites and catalogs.
