Band!

My son's middle school's Advanced Band brought home a Superior rating from the ABDA in Birmingham yesterday. Our band director should be very proud of himself for all the hard work he has put into molding these young men and women to perform at their very best.

I'm so proud of him and his bandmates at the way they played and conducted themselves while listening to the other bands perform.

I heard this afternoon that the 9th grade school received an Excellent rating and the high school received a Superior rating. The high school band was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I'm hoping that the high school's band director is still there when my son is a sophomore - I believe that he could learn a lot from him.

Birmingham...here we come!

The boy and I are off to Birmingham in the morning, so that he can perform with the Advanced Band at State.

I'm so excited. Can't wait to hear them perform, as well as the other bands invited to UAB. They blew their competition away at District a couple of weeks ago. :)

Snow!

It finally snowed here in No. Alabama! After several false promises by the local weather gurus, they finally got one right.

(This is supposed to be a closeup of my hydrangea bush. I'm still learning!)

Just wish it would've happened later today or tonight, so that we could have a 3-day weekend. I suppose beggars can't be choosers.


Hmmm...maybe we'll get some more. The two major snowstorms that have occurred since we've been here have happened in late February and mid-March.


My husband and children's idea of a 'snowman'. I have no earthly idea what this is supposed to be, but her name is 'Dolly'.
