THUD!!!

That's what we heard last Monday evening. Hubby and I were enjoying the peace & quiet after a busy day. The kids were in bed, I was reading, Hubby was surfing and MNF was on in the background. All was right with the world. Until...

Thud!Crash!Thud! "Did you hear that?" I asked Hubby. Cautiously, we made our way to our bedroom, through our bathroom to the closet where we found two of the shelves had fallen. Of course, they were loaded up with Hubby's shirts and pants among other things on the top shelf. What a mess! The shelving hadn't been secured into the studs and had ripped chunks out of the drywall when it fell. NOT a good thing!!! That's what you get when the builder has inexperienced people working for them. Grrr...

Anyway, we picked up the clothes, cleaned up the mess and fixed the drywall. Hubby rehung the shelves and put the screws in the STUDS (where they should have been in the 1st place). Now, we're checking all of the shelves that the builder put up. Don't want that to happen again. Especially in the kids' closets.

We can laugh about it now, but we are very grateful that it didn't happen in the middle of the night.
